It is well understood that UCPD Berkeley has the duty to uphold and authority to enforce the laws of the State of California. Likewise, the City of Berkeley has its own Municipal Code which applies off campus. In addition, our officers are responsible for following University of California policies and other campus policies and procedures, and actively enforcing or supporting many of them.
