Whether you are a visitor, student, faculty or staff at UC Berkeley, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the policies and regulations that may apply to you.
It is well understood that UCPD Berkeley has the duty to uphold and authority to enforce the laws of the State of California(link is external). Likewise, the City of Berkeley has its own Municipal Code(link is external) which applies off campus. In addition, our officers are responsible for following University of California policies(link is external) and other campus policies and procedures(link is external), and actively enforcing or supporting many of them.
Here you can also find the University-wide and department specific policies that establish how UCPD Berkeley operates, trains and holds itself accountable.
