Calls for Service Data

As a multi-purpose resource for the campus community, UCPD Berkeley receives many types of calls for service aside from possible crimes. Our officers assist in the resolution of a broad range of hazards, conflicts and other concerns. Peace officers may also initiate action when they directly observe possible threats to public safety and violations of law or policy.

During the response to and preliminary investigation of an event, officers try to identify the best possible outcome and engage additional resources as needed to achieve that goal. They assess the situation to determine if any crimes should be documented and if any enforcement action is appropriate. For more information about reported crimes and enforcement actions, please review the UCPD Daily Crime Log and/or the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report using the links on this page.
